Join the Middle School Conservation Ecology Internship at Homewood Science Center, a hands-on STEM internship in Homewood, Illinois for 6th–8th graders. This program helps students explore ecology, conduct scientific investigations, and gain real-world experience while contributing to community conservation projects.

What You Will Do

• Conduct fieldwork at Izaak Walton Preserve in Homewood
• Study plants, wildlife, and ecosystems using scientific methods
• Develop and lead a conservation project for the community
• Present findings at the WALK WALTON Nature Fest

Program Details

Dates: Saturdays over four weeks plus final weekend presentation
Location: Izaak Walton Preserve, Homewood, Illinois
Eligibility: Students in grades 6–8 with interest in ecology, conservation, or STEM
Time Commitment: 11 to 13 hours including fieldwork and public presentation
